EcoWater proprietary water filters can be expensive. By installing EcoWater-compatible reverse osmosis filter replacements and taking care of routine system maintenance yourself, you can save money.

Keep in mind that the RO membrane usually only needs to be replaced every two years, while the sediment and carbon filters are replaced every 6-12 months depending on water usage and water quality.

Some filters and membranes will work directly with your EcoWater reverse osmosis system and others will require a "conversion kit" be installed first (such as the Ero 300 model). A retrofit kit allows you to keep using your current EcoWater tank and faucet, but by installing a new manifold (component that holds the filters), you're able to use less expensive EcoWater-compatible filters going forward.
