Description

The Outback Ready Emergency Water Filter (OB-25RDY) is a portable, gravity-powered, four-stage water filtration system designed for emergency preparedness and situations where electricity or pressurized water may not be available. No plumbing, tools, or electricity are required.

Rugged, portable, and easy to store, the Outback Ready is designed for emergency preparedness, disaster response, remote locations, base camps, and temporary water disruptions. It can treat visually clear freshwater from streams, rivers, lakes, ponds, springs, collected rainwater, and untreated stored freshwater.

Proven Use Around the World
According to company history, Outback systems have been used for more than two decades by the Peace Corps and by other missionary groups and NGOs providing emergency and relief services.

Third-Party Tested Performance
The Outback Ready uses four stages of filtration — the OB-NET Pre-Filter Net, OB-SLEEVE Pre-Filter Sleeve, OB-PF7 Nano Pre-Filter, and OB-RF10 Multi-Media Filtration Cartridge — and has been third-party tested for >99.9999% bacteria reduction, >99.99% cyst reduction, and >99.99% virus reduction. Its filtration media also reduces chlorine taste and odor and a range of other contaminants. See the Outback test results for complete performance data and testing conditions.

High Capacity
The Outback Ready can filter more than 24 gallons of water per day. Replacement filters are available.

No Electricity Required
Gravity moves water through the filtration system, making the Outback Ready practical for emergencies, power outages, remote locations, and other situations where electricity or pressurized water may not be available.

Simple Operation
Pour source water into the upper chamber through the pre-filter net. Gravity moves the water through the four-stage filtration system and into the lower chamber, where the filtered water is ready to dispense.

Easy Assembly
The Outback Ready is designed for straightforward setup and can be assembled in just minutes without special tools or plumbing.

Compact Storage
The Outback Ready nests together for compact storage. Filters and components can be stored inside the system, making it easy to keep with your emergency preparedness supplies until needed.

Outback water filter

"I used this water filter for a springtime Turkey hunt from Canoe on a mountain lake in Arkansas. I brought 2 gallons of freshwater with me and the only other water I had was from the lake which was covered with pollen. This filter cleaned and purified all my drinking water for the 2 weeks that I was on the lake. I am very satisfied with this product and can highly recommend It."

"We bought this because we live in an area where we lose water a few times a year for one reason or another. We used it for the first time yesterday and it was very easy to set up. We had drinkable water quickly and efficiently. I would highly recommend this for its ease of use and affordability."

Survival water supply

"I never actually used it. I own it as an emergency water supply should I ever need it to drink the water from my creek. Be prepared!"

Kenneth K. (5/5)

Using the Outback Plus

"It is May 8th 2021 just returned from a two-week stay on a mountain lake in Arkansas. Springtime on the lake presents a lot of pollen issues. The water source is very clear but the pollen is very heavy. The Outback Plus had no problem with the pollen. I filtered at least 25 gallons of good drinking water. Yes the sock filter over the particulate filter in the top bucket needs cleaning no problem the Outback Plus served me very well. Customer service was great also. The bottom bucket lid did not fit when I received my unit. But upon notification one was shipped out with Expediance. I guess my only question would be what covers the holes where the spicket and the two buckets meet for long-term storage?"

It makes sense.

"It makes sense."

Agua Sin Gas

"At first seems a bit expensive for two plastic Lowes buckets tied together ... Neighbor gave me a lot of grief in that regard.....But if I ever need it in an emergency "and that is all it would be used for" and it works, all is forgiven."

Q&A

Can your system be used with pond water?
Yes. It is always best to use water from a fresh water source. Typical water supplies that are used with the Outback are streams, creeks, rivers, ponds and lakes. Additional water sources may be rainwater collection, water heaters, swimming pools, spas, fresh water from the toilet and untreated stored water. Note that the chemicals in swimming pool/spa water will lessen the life of the filters, and filters will need to be replaced earlier.
